Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation (LDCRF) is a highly dedicated group of volunteers who rescues dogs and cats from the threat of euthanasia in shelters or other at-risk situations and places them for adoption into loving homes. Once in LDCRF care, these companion animals are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption.
Our Vision: To create a world where every loving dog and cat has a home and every person who is lonely has a companion animal to fill their hearts with love. We work to achieve our mission through innovative rescue practices, compassionate education, and transformative programs to create a safe haven for homeless pets.
What You Can Do to Help:
As the weather warms up, it’s important to know how you can help keep animals safe from the dangers of hot cars. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, the nation’s preeminent legal advocacy organization for animals, is urging pet owners to protect their furry family members by not leaving them unattended in their vehicles when it gets too hot.
Sunshades for Hot Cars:
The Animal Legal Defense Fund is also partnering with the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation to create sunshades that will remind pet owners not to leave their dogs in a car on a hot day. The sunshades will feature the words, “Warning: Don’t leave dogs in hot cars,” and can be hung on fences or windows in parking lots.
A Special Project:
In partnership with the Humane Society of the United States, LDCRF has taken on a special project to rescue 56 beagles from a mass breeding facility that was riddled with animal welfare concerns. The HSUS has transferred these beagles to LDCRF’s Rescue Care Center in Falls Church, where they will be evaluated for adoption.
